Limitations to benefits

In each policy year, Ligament cover will pay for:

  • One dislocation and / or
  • One tendon rupture or grade 3 / grade 2 ligament tear

Dislocations: Only where dislocations resulting surgical intervention are covered.

Ligament tears: If benefit has been previously paid for a partial (grade 2) ligament tera in a policy year, benefit for a subsequent complete (grade3) ligament tear in the same year will be the same as that paid for a partial (grade2) ligament tear.

Benefit is reduced by 50% from the policy holders 70th birthday.

You can add units at any point in time, but you can never reduce the amount of units without first cancelling the policy.

If you cancel the policy, and then restart it will mean the 12 month policy start date will restart, meaning you will have to wait a further12 months before being covered for any hospital stay over 24 hours
